The goal of Restart Congress is to put Americans first by eliminating career politics and the abuse of power that runs rampant through our government.
We will do this by aggressively pursuing a constitutional amendment that sets term limits on our Congressional leaders, ending corruption and tyranny in our government and returning America to prosperity.
Abuse of Power
When a person is initially elected to Congress, he or she may have noble intentions. However, our broken system provides too many temptations that can easily result in our Representatives and Senators abusing their power and taxpayer money for their own gains.
Founding Fathers
When the Founding Fathers deliberated over the blueprints for this great nation, they made no secret of the fact that, overwhelmingly, they believed anyone given power in government would eventually be corrupted by it.
Americans First
In the aftermath of the unprecedented tragedy of September 11, 2001, Americans everywhere united together. The qualities that separated us became less important, and we focused on what we all shared: love for our country.
Arguments for Term Limits
With term limits in place, Congress will be more responsible toward their constituents because they will soon be constituents themselves. They will have to live under the laws they have created while in office.
Why We Can Do It
Americans are ready for a revolution. With Congressional approval ratings at an all-time low, it is clear that we are fed up with the abuse of power, partisan gridlock and lack of representation that has defined Congress for many years.
